Privacy Policy

Reignite ("we", "our", "us") is a Shopify app that helps merchants identify and re-engage customers who haven't purchased recently. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When a merchant installs Reignite, we access the following data from their Shopify store:

Customer data: Email address, first name, last name
Order data: Order history, order totals, line items (product names and prices), discount codes used, order dates
Product data: Product names and pricing (read-only)

We do not collect:

Payment information or credit card details
Customer physical addresses
Customer browsing behavior
Any data from store visitors who haven't placed an order

2. How We Use Data

Segmentation: We analyze order history to identify customers at risk of churning using RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) scoring.
Email generation: We use customer purchase history to generate personalized win-back emails via AI (Anthropic Claude). Customer data is sent to Anthropic's API solely for email content generation.
Email delivery: We send emails on the merchant's behalf via Resend. Customer email addresses are shared with Resend solely for delivery.
Analytics: We track email opens, clicks, and conversions to measure campaign effectiveness.

3. Data Storage

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (neon.tech) in the US region. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We retain merchant data for as long as the app is installed. Upon uninstallation, data is deleted within 48 hours per Shopify's requirements.

5. GDPR & Data Rights

Data access: Merchants can view all stored data through the Reignite dashboard.
Data deletion: We honor all customer deletion requests received via Shopify's GDPR webhooks. Customer PII is removed within 24 hours of receiving a redaction request.
Data portability: Customer and order data originates from Shopify and can be exported from the Shopify admin.
Shop deletion: When a merchant uninstalls Reignite, all associated data is permanently deleted within 48 hours.

6. Email Communication

Reignite sends emails to a merchant's customers only when explicitly initiated by the merchant. We never send unsolicited emails. Merchants must review and approve all campaign content before sending.

We respect customer email marketing preferences. Reignite only sends to customers whose Shopify email marketing consent is set to "subscribed." Customers who unsubscribe or file complaints are immediately suppressed and will never receive further emails from campaigns generated by Reignite.

All emails include unsubscribe links managed by the email delivery provider (Resend).
